Calling all students GRADES 1-4 and GRADES 5-7!

Begin a fun journey of learning and self-discovery. Join the 2012 Lampara Children’s Storytelling Competition and tell some of the most exciting and value-laden children’s stories. Plus! Get the chance to win exciting prizes from Lampara Publishing House and Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA)

Here are some reminders:

Deadline for registration is August 7, 2012.

COMPETITION RULES

1. Only stories published by Lampara Books and written by Filipino authors may be used as a storytelling piece for this competition.

2. The competition will have two categories: Category A Grades 1 – 4

                                                                                Category B Grades 5 – 7

3. Selection of finalists: The participant should be available to join a 4-hour workshop to be held at the PETA Theater Center (date to be announced). The showcase of this workshop shall determine the 10 finalists for each category

4. Orientation of the Coaches: The coaches of all selected participants should be available to attend the orientation for the competition rules and criteria for judging  and a children’s rights session. They will be given the list of Lampara Books for selection of the storytelling piece to be used in the contest.

5. Storytelling Workshop:  All finalists will be invited to join a 2-day storytelling workshop to be conducted by PETA Artist-Teachers to prepare them for the finals.

6. Finals:  The finals will be held during the Annual Book Fair to be held on September 16, 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia-SMEX

1st  Prize P 15,000.00

2nd Prize P 12,000.00

3rd Prize P  7,000.00

Plus trophies, certificates and gift packs for winning storytellers and their respective coaches from Lampara Publishing House, Inc.
